Photo montage inspired by women born before me in my small harbour town

I come from a very idyllic town by the sea. The lives of the people living there before me were touched daily by the presence of the sea. It created jobs, provided food, and access to other seaside villages and foreign countries.

The sea brought enormous grief as well, as it took the lives of countless fishermen, sailors, soldiers, children and adults. In an old church park that used to be just at the waters'e edge, there is a sculpture of a grieving woman, gazing forever out to the sea.
