Digital collage inspired by spring light. You know those long, crisp April evenings when the sky is high, and anything is possible? That sure seems true for these two here!
While I often build my collages around 100-year-old museum photographs, the main image here is a photo bank image and appears contemporary.
Past centuries are present here in the form of William Morris' gorgeous vintage wallpaper design and an ancient Japanese painting (the 'window' in this piece), which was actually the starting point and inspiration for the whole piece.
It is by Hirohige Shigenobu II (1826-1869), who painted sublime Japanese landscapes I am just dying to share!
