Two pieces using one piece in common: a vintage photo of a soda bottle sales machine

The first piece contains a fragment from a gorgeous bird drawing in a 1800's Japanese book

The second contains a photo of a young American Japanese man waiting to be sent to an interment camp (concentration camp) in 1942 in San Fransisco. I've combined his portrait with a fragment of Utagawa Hiroshige's 1856 painting 'Night View of Saruwaka-machi' as a reference to the boys' parents' homeland
